YOUR PLACE OR MINE?

SYNOPSIS

Two reluctant housemates. One question: Is this your place or mine...?

When Serena is kicked out of her flat, an offer from her friend, Taylor, to house sit for her while she and her husband go travelling could not be better timing. But unfortunately for Serena she’s not the only one to have received this offer.

Enter Ziggy: arrogant, messy (and annoyingly handsome) musician, and friend of Taylor’s husband. Living with him is far from ideal, especially when he claims the best room, has loud parties - and the least said about his kitchen manner the better.

There's just one solution for Serena – drive him out of the house by being twice as difficult to live with than he is! But Ziggy knows Serena's game and as war ensues between them, being forced together under one roof may result in some unexpected consequences.

REVIEW

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Do you have a trusted author whose books always manage to uplift you no matter what so, when you’re in the mood or in need of some uplifting you know one of their books will not fail you? Well, Portia MacIntosh is that author for me. I’ve read several of her books (quite a lot, in fact), and I still have to find one I don’t like. Your Place Or Mine? is the last addition to her fantastic list of rom-coms.

When Serena suddenly finds herself with no job and no home, she jumps at the chance to house sit for a friend while she and her husband go traveling. But the husband has also offered the house to one of his mates, so Serena will have to live with Ziggy, her complete opposite. The clash of the house sitters will start a war to drive the other one out of the house, but their cohabitation will have unexpected consequences.

This was such a fun book I read it in one sitting. If you’re familiar with Portia’s work you know what to expect, and if not just tell you that you will find an easy read with an engaging and humorous style, that will draw you in right from the start, making you fall in love with some charming characters that will win you over.

Serena and Ziggy were both great characters, and they both showed some good development, especially Serena. I liked how much she grew out throughout the story and how she slowly started to come into her own while gaining some confidence in herself. I also loved her relationship with her mentor Diana and how she believed in her and saw Serena’s full potential before she even realized it herself.

Serena and Ziggy’s chemistry was there from the start even though they didn’t know it. Their “house war” was responsible for some great pranks, banter and laugh out loud moments.

They were accompanied by a wonderful cast of supporting characters, and I wouldn’t mind to read a spin off involving some of them (I’m looking at you, Al!).

Light hearted and funny enemies to lovers story with some heartfelt moments, that was a really enjoyable entertainment. If you’re read her previous books you will love this, and if not this is such a great start.

Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review and to Rachel’s Random Resources for my spot on the tour.

HELLO, IT’S ME!

I was wondering if after all these years you'd like to read... MY BRAND NEW BLOG! (Look at me plagiarazing   drawing inspiration from Adele for my very first entry).                                                               She approves! So, if you're here reading this...THANK YOU for tuning in! For those who don't know me my name is Javier and after more than a year writing reviews on sites as Goodreads and NetGalley I decided to create my own blog to share my love of books with the world. When I first started writing reviews I was not able to put two sentences together, but as I kept writing I realized I had lots to say about the books I read. Rest assured my reviews will always be honest (no problems here telling when I don't like something) and spoiler free (I hate spoilers!). My personal preferences are:    - Mystery/Suspense/Thriller (medical, legal, cozy... if there's a dead body, I'm in. Not for nothing I'm a medical examiner myself)    - Conte
