SYNOPSIS
Sophie O'Neill left behind an envy-inspiring career and the stressful, competitive life of big-city Chicago to settle down with her husband and young son in a small Texas town. It seems like the perfect life with a beautiful home in an idyllic rural community. But Sophie soon realizes that life is now too quiet, and she's feeling bored and restless.
Then she meets Margot Banks, an alluring socialite who is part of an elite clique secretly known as the Hunting Wives. Sophie finds herself completely drawn to Margot and swept into her mysterious world of late-night target practice and dangerous partying. As Sophie's curiosity gives way to full-blown obsession, she slips farther away from the safety of her family and deeper into this nest of vipers.
When the body of a teenage girl is discovered in the woods where the Hunting Wives meet, Sophie finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation and her life spiraling out of control.

REVIEW
RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
A couple of days ago I was trying to decide what book to pick up next when my friend Kim told me she had just finished The Hunting Wives and LOVED it. We usually like the same books (cough, cough, Addie LaRue 😂) so I was immediately sold and I started the audiobook right after our conversation. When I realized I had already listened to 4 hours. That’s how engaging it was!
I just love these stories of rich people behaving outrageously and suffering the consequences. I’m that nice! ☺️
Recently moved to town Sophie is bored with her life and she would love to be part of the mean girls group (almost 40 yo mean girls, which are much more fun than younger mean girls. You just need to watch any Real Housewives of Wherever). But, is she ready to face the consequences of being part of that clique?
At times Sophie came up as very naive and every time she drank a glass of wine she shouldn’t I would have given her a slap on the head while eye-rolling. Learn from your mistakes, girl!
These women behavior was appalling, scandalous, shocking and atrocious and, although I don’t condone it, I enjoyed every single minute of it. But...couldn’t those guys have been a tiny bit older? I was a bit surprised that THAT did not have more repercussion in the town once it came to light, and can’t help to think that, if it would have been the other way around (older guy + teenage girl), it would not have been taken so lightly.
Although the mystery resolution was a bit predictable I relished tremendously all the drama in these women’s lives and I can’t wait to read what the author comes out with next.
