SYNOPSIS
When Alice and Leo move into a newly renovated house in The Circle, a gated community of exclusive houses, it is everything they’ve dreamed of. But appearances can be deceptive…
As Alice is getting to know her neighbours, she discovers a devastating, grisly secret about her new home, and begins to feel a strong connection with Nina, the therapist who lived there before.
Alice becomes obsessed with trying to piece together what happened two years before. But no one wants to talk about it. Her neighbours are keeping secrets and things are not as perfect as they seem.

REVIEW
RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
When a few years back I read Behind Closed Doors I became instantly a fan of B.A. Paris. I can’t remember many books that made my blood boil and got me so tense as that one. Last year, The Dilemma was a bit of a letdown, as it was more of a drama than a suspense story, so I’m glad to tell that in The Therapist she’s back to form.
I went with the audiobook version and I got hooked right from the start. At first, Alice’s obsession with Nina’s murder was a hard to understand. She was a bit annoying at times and her behavior a bit weird. Despite her neighbor’s warnings she was quite stubborn and always did the complete opposite of what they asked her, suspecting each an every one of them. I suspected everyone too at some point, but I guessed the culprit pretty early on. Despite this, I could not have guessed their motives and all the craziness that happened towards the end in a million years so, well done! Yes, it might be a bit OTT for some people but I loved it! The crazier, the better!
I found this to be a fantastic page turning psychological suspense, well written and with an interesting plot that kept surprising me until the very end.
I will read anything B.A. Paris comes out with so I’m already anxiously waiting her next book!
