SYNOPSIS
Violet March and Sam Nash are as different as night and day and have been enemies ever since Violet accused Sam of dognapping her beloved Dalmatian. Sam knows that would never happen—his well-trained fire safety demonstration dog never steps out of line, whereas Violet's problematic pooch has never met a command she didn't ignore completely, much like her bubbly owner. So when Sprinkles and Cinder accidentally switch places during the annual police vs. fire department softball tournament, Violet is thrilled by her dog's sudden perfect behavior, while stubborn-yet-charming Sam is horrified to find that his dog no longer listens.
But when they eventually realize and switch the dogs back, Sam and Violet are shocked to find that not everything is as simple as it seems. And a little puppy love might be just the thing they've been missing...

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐
I gotta confess that I picked A Spot Of Trouble just because of its cover. Look at that! What’s not to love about those two cute Dalmatians? With that cover I was hoping for a really cute story but, although there were some nice moments, the main character managed to ruin the whole book.
When Violet meets Sam she accuses him of stealing her Dalmatian, Sprinkles, and what could have been a truly meet cute turned into a very irritating scene because of Violet’s attitude. She could not even fathom there were more Dalmatians in town than her own, ergo, he was a thief!
From then on, we’ll witness several encounters between them, but as soon as things seemed to start going well, she got a new crazy idea in her head that derailed their relationship once again. And you know how that could have been helped? If she had let other people talk and had stopped making assumptions! I think Sam was too patient with her. Thank god the dogs were there to raise the level of cuteness!
The rest of the characters were pretty quirky (and nosy), especially the trio of old ladies that were Violet’s BFFs and that were set on meddling with Violet and Sam’s relationship.
And, in relation with the ladies’ scheme, as Roxette would say…”it must have been love” that clouded their minds cause no one could be so dumb as to not realize straight away what those ladies had done.
The old feud between the police department and the firefighter brigade, and the softball league made me roll my eyes so hard at times that I saw my own brain.
Although the premise was cute and there were some nice moments (thank you, Dalmatians!), the execution and a very annoying main character brought the whole story down.
