SYNOPSIS
Natalie, a young art student in New York City, is struggling to pay her bills when a friend makes a suggestion: Why not go online and find a sugar daddy—a wealthy, older man who will pay her for dates and even give her a monthly allowance? Lots of girls do it, Nat learns. All that’s required is to look pretty and hang on his every word. Sexual favors are optional.
Though more than thirty years her senior, Gabe, a handsome corporate finance attorney, seems like the perfect candidate, and within a month, they are madly in love. At least, Nat is…Gabe already has a family, whom he has no intention of leaving.
So when he abruptly ends things, Nat can’t let go. But Gabe’s not about to let his sugar baby destroy his perfect life. What was supposed to be a mutually beneficial arrangement devolves into a nightmare of deception, obsession, and, when a body is found near Gabe’s posh Upper East Side apartment, murder.

REVIEW
RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫
After reading The Perfect Family a month ago I decided to read/listen to all Robyn Harding’s backlist and it must be the first time I’m keeping my reading promises as now I only have one left. I ended 2021 with The Arrangement and what a great way to end it was!
Natalie, a young art student, is struggling to pay her bills so, what better way to get some money than to find a sugar daddy, right? She finds one pretty quick but she didn’t expect to fall in love with him, so when things don’t go as she expected, she finds herself spiraling into an obsessive and “stalkery” path.
This was such an addictive read! It was the perfect escapism. Natalie is the typical character you love to hate. I could not help rooting for her but at the same time she often came as childish and entitled. It’s clear from the start this sugar daddy/sugar baby thing can not end well, so when things start to go awry she does a 180º and turns from Jekyll into Mr. Hyde. It was so much fun! (not for Natalie).
Right from the start we know there’s been a murder but, who’s the victim? I kept changing theories as the story progressed but once we learn who died I saw the resolution crystal clear on my mind and was not wrong at all. Although I usually don’t like guessing all the twists and turns, in this case I did not mind, as even though I guessed the “who”, Natalie’s fate wasn’t so clear until the last pages.
The arrangement was a fun, quick and, at times, crazy read (I prefer sugar only in my bakes, thanks!). If you want a story that gets you hooked from the start, The Arrangement is the one.
